Ninja Crispi review: who the fixed cooking modes suit

Useful small-meal cooking, without a temperature dial

The examined community accounts describe useful small-meal cooking and easier cleanup with the detachable glass container. An identified FN101GY account supports that workflow; another reports about three months of near-daily Crispi use but leaves the regional model unspecified. TechGearLab's April 17, 2026 test also found successful cooking, especially tots and salmon. [4] [5] [1]

Positive and negative experience can belong to the same owner. Exact-Sage accounts describe good cooking before later breakage, including one at fourteen months. We retain both halves: they support the practical cooking benefit, not a promise that every unit lasts. [6] [7]

If you need to set the temperature yourself to follow your usual recipes or frozen-food packet directions, this is the wrong air fryer. RTINGS, TechGearLab and a September 7, 2026 exact-Sage account support that boundary. Air Fry, Bake, Max Crisp and Recrisp modes do not give you an adjustable temperature dial. [8] [1] [9] [10]

Good cooking is not uniformly crisp cooking

The strongest contrary cooking evidence is genuinely mixed. RTINGS' FN101GY test, reviewed October 31, 2025 and updated February 20, 2026, found fast cooking but uneven crisping. Weaker fries and wings in TechGearLab and an August 7 Sage account of slow, insufficiently crisp cooking add separate counter-evidence. [8] [1] [11]

Successful cooking and separate positive owner use kept that from becoming a blanket no. Some disputed test batches do not clearly establish the selected mode, and the linked guide distinguishes frozen-food modes. That limits a sweeping conclusion; it does not prove anyone used the appliance incorrectly or that a revision fixed the concern. [1] [4] [12]

Do not confuse glass convenience with assured longevity

Reports of running without heating recur in the examined Amazon and Target owner reviews. They cover FN101GY and FN101ST accounts after roughly a year and fourteen months, plus a nine-month syndicated account. The September 1 and August 22, 2026 reports are not all exact Sage units; the syndicated one was promotional, originated with SharkNinja and has unclear region. Repetition across retailer pages is not new corroboration. [13] [14] [15]

Useful-cooking evidence still carries the Conditional decision on this qualified set, but we cannot promise dependable long life. Sage breakage with an unspecified mechanism, LID errors after storage and a top-related incident remain different observations—not one proven heating defect or verified repair. [7] [16] [6]

TechGearLab judged the very hot exterior glass serious enough to reject the appliance. Worthivo's different conclusion is not a finding that this concern is harmless. If exposed hot cookware is unsuitable for your kitchen, choose another design; follow the instructions supplied with your exact unit. [1]

Separate reports describe smoke and a plastic smell after about two months, and burning smell with eye irritation after six to eight months followed by a warranty replacement. Exact model or region and the replacement's longevity are unresolved. These different, qualified incidents did not overturn the corroborated cooking case; that evidence limitation is not proof of safety or owner error. [2] [3]

Choose the exact system this review covers

This review targets US Sage FN101SG, a 120 V 4-in-1 system, not Crispi Pro or UK/EU electrical versions. Clearly identified FN101GY and FN101ST colour-variant evidence is labelled separately. The support page lists FN101SG but links to an owner's-guide article naming FN100 variants; we did not treat that guide as proof of a current Sage correction. [8] [10] [12]

Original tests, community discussions and a targeted critical Sage sample informed the answer. The latest sampled Sage dates are July–September 2026, with fourteen months the longest explicit Sage use. Some historical dates, regions and revisions are unknown. Commercial links on publication tests and promotional labels were recorded; varied use and dissent do not authenticate purchases or hidden ties. The separate corroborating forum accounts have no visible product-commerce links; that does not establish an absence of undisclosed relationships.

September 8 CPSC recall-title and product-name searches for Crispi returned no matching record. Those term-limited results are not an exhaustive alias search or a safety certificate. No independently confirmed repair was established. The dated Conditional verdict remains an opinion that materially different evidence can change. [17] [18]
